Library Teams: User Services

Description

The User Services Team (UST) provides a forum to plan, communicate, exchange ideas, and share information relative to circulation and user experience. The team meets every month during fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Charge

The User Services Team develops recommendations, guidelines, and procedures to achieve effective, student-focused services regarding reserves, circulation material and study spaces. 

The User Services Team has responsibilities for the following areas:

  1. Managing and Evaluating Course Reserves.
  2. Maintaining currency of Department Office student employees policy and procedures.
  3. Making recommendations for policy changes to department as needed.
  4. Monitoring trends in the delivery of library circulation services and making recommendations for improvements.
  5. Implementing department goals, policies, and procedures that fall within the team's purview.
  6. Evaluating the team's effectiveness.

Team Communication

Team meetings are open to all staff. Agenda of each upcoming meeting will be sent by e-mail in advance of the meeting. Members of the team share in meeting facilitation and note taking. Meeting notes are posted to the "Library Staff Updates WebEx team no later than one week following the meeting. Agendas and meeting notes will be made available in the department shared SharePoint.
