Purpose

This guide is designed to guide a new library employee through the orientation of the various teams under the LCC Library's charge.

We believe that many tasks are complex, requiring different viewpoints and broad input. To achieve the best results, much of our work is accomplished in teams. This approach allows work and responsibility to be distributed among employees.

Library Teams

Budget and Operations -- BOT
Provides support for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating department budget, facility, operations, and equipment processes and needs.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - DEI
Library and Learning Commons employees work to champion an inclusive environment
Instructional Services -- IST
Provides the overall direction for the department's library instruction program. The team plans, prioritizes, and develops the instruction services offered by the library faculty to students, employees, and college-affiliated groups.
Library and Learning Commons Lead - LLC
Provides a forum for Library and Learning Commons staff to plan, communicate, exchange ideas, and share information relative to services and resources.
Reference Services -- RST
Provides a forum for members to plan, communicate, exchange ideas, and share information relative to all aspects of reference services and collections.
Technology Resources
Provides a forum to plan, communicate, exchange ideas and share information relative to Help Zone services in the Technology Learning Center Building & West Campus Technology Resource Center, Art & Photo Resource Center Services, and the new technology space.
User Services (Circulation) -- UST
Provides a forum to plan, communicate, exchange ideas, and share information relative to circulation and user experience.
Web Improvement -- WIT
Works to continually improve the library website by providing a forum for website design, development, maintenance, and quality control.
