Description

 The Library Communication and Outreach Team identifies, implements, and evaluates communication strategies related to library promotion and advocacy, donor relations and fundraising, and internal department communication. The team is led by the Library Communications Specialist. Membership from all units of the Learning Assistance Department is strongly encouraged.

Charge

The Library Communication and Outreach Team has the following responsibilities:

  1. Identifies, implements, and evaluates communication strategies that inform, engage, and motivate target audiences to use the Library.
  2. Identifies, implements, and evaluates fundraising opportunities and activities.
  3. Plans, attends, and evaluates library events and programming.
  4. Participates in and delivers professional development to build staff communication competencies.
  5. Implements department goals, policies, and procedures that fall within the team’s purview.
  6. Takes action on business referred by DIT.

Team Communication

Team meetings are open to all staff. Agenda of each upcoming meeting will be sent by email in advance of meetings. Meeting notes are posted to Library Staff Updates in WebEx no later than one week following the meeting. Agendas and meeting notes will be made available in the department’s shared workspace. Discussions outside of team meetings will take place in the Webex COT group.
