Tips for Finding Articles

Start by using the library OneSearch to search for a specific health and medicine related topic. If you are unsure of a topic try browsing print or electronic medical journals for articles. Look for longer research articles that have enough medical terms for your assignment.

Use OneSearch to search the LCC Library's databases for journal articles about your preferred medical topic:

 

Search Tips

Use 2-4 keywords. Avoid long questions or statements

  • More words = fewer results
  • Fewer words = more results

Use quotation marks around phrases

  • "Cardiac arrest"

Refine your results

  • Full text online
  • Scholarly & peer review
  • Discipline
  • Subject term

Off-Campus Access

Journals

When you are unsure of a specific topic to explore you can try browsing journals for potential articles. Looking through medical journals could help you locate an article or give you an idea for a specific medical topic you want to explore more in-depth.

The following print journals are available on the 3rd floor of the library located in the TLC building. Access the 3rd floor using the stairs or elevator on the 2nd floor. 

The following E-Journals are available to browse online and can be accessed remotely from any device using your LCC username and password.
