You will encounter several kinds of employees at the Library. Below is a list of the kinds of employees at the Library and the things with which they can help you.

Librarians

The LCC librarians assist with reference at the Research Help Desk on the second floor. The librarian on duty will leave their name and picture out on the Research Help Desk. If they are away from the desk, their picture may help you recognize them if you need to ask for help. Librarians can help you with: Research for an assignment Writing and checking citations Using library databases Finding books and other resources

Help Zone Staff

The Help Zone is located next to the Research Help Desk. There is often more than one Help Zone employee on duty. They will sit at one of three desks located under the "Help Zone" sign.

The Help Zone can help you with:

  • Checking out books
  • Checking out technology, like laptops and graphing calculators
  • Using LCC computers and other technology
  • Checking out study rooms

Student Staff

Several student employees work at the library. These employees often wear light-blue t-shirts. Student staff operate the Technology Lab and help maintain the library. They can answer basic questions about the library and can point you in the right direction, should you need help.
