Academic Advising

Academic Advisors help you plan your academic journey at LCC. Advisors provide guidance and clarity on program details and help you navigate through your program efficiently, whether you plan to achieve your degree or certificate at LCC, or if you plan to transfer to a four-year university. Below you'll find helpful information related to academic advising at LCC:

Academic Advising for Specific Groups

There are offices on campus that provide help to specific student groups. To see if you qualify for help from any of these offices, hover over the "i" icon next to each department name.

Adult Resource Center The Adult Resource Center is for people who may be considering returning to school, exploring career options, or needing support in life transitions.
Fostering S.T.A.R.S. Fostering S.T.A.R.S offers support and resources to foster youth alumni ages (14-23) to improve college graduation and career achievement rates.
Global Student Services Global Student Services provides support services to immigrant, permanent resident, and US citizen students who have Limited English Proficiency (LEP), as well as provides assistance to international students who are admitted to the US in a temporary, non-resident status (any type of visa).
Office of Veteran and Military Affairs The OVMA also acts as a liaison between students, the VA, and other LCC departments; making contacts on behalf of students when needed. We also offer a dedicated academic advisor, and a large veteran lounge area as a place for veteran students to meet, relax, and work on school work.
Center for Student Access The Cesar Chavez Learning Center's ACCESS -Access to College and Careers with Excellence through Student Services, provides student support for personal, social, cultural, and academic adjustment of BIPOC- Black, Indigenous People of Color, LGBTQ+, First-Generation, Low Income, adult students, varying ability, and other marginalized and underrepresented student groups. NO STUDENT will be turned away from seeking services with the ACCESS Program. Which of these best describe you? (For example: "I am First-Generation, low-income and an adult learner)
